The Member representing AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency of the Federal Capital Territory, Hon. Joshua Chinedu Obika, has continued to demonstrate strong commitment to grassroots development through impactful community support initiatives.
In recognition of the traditional institutions and their role in community stability, Hon. Obika donated a utility vehicle to the Chief of Jiwa Chiefdom. He has also organized several rounds of free medical treatment and health check-ups for residents of the area, improving access to healthcare for vulnerable populations.
Similarly, the lawmaker provided a vehicle to the Chief of Karahi Chiefdom and facilitated multiple free medical outreach programmes, offering diagnostic tests and treatment to hundreds of residents.
In Bwari, Hon. Obika donated a vehicle to the Chief of Bwari Chiefdom and ensured the organization of medical check-ups and treatment exercises aimed at improving public health in the community.
Beyond these interventions, Hon. Obika has sponsored several bills at the National Assembly, including a proposed Free Education Initiative designed to benefit indigenes and residents of the FCT, reflecting his commitment to human capital development and social inclusion.
Meanwhile, following the recent internal crisis within the Labour Party, Hon. Obika returned to the All Progressives Congress (APC), his former political platform. The decision, which was widely endorsed by his supporters, is seen as a strategic move aimed at enhancing his capacity to attract more developmental projects and deliver greater dividends of democracy to the people of the FCT.
Political observers note that his return to the ruling party may strengthen his ability to advocate effectively for the needs of the constituency at the federal level.
