The Chief Executive Officer of SHEIKS & BISHOPS Consultant, Chief Sir Chikwe Udensi, has pledged mobility support and reaffirmed his organisation’s commitment to partnering with the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), FCT Chapter, to deepen grassroots advocacy for women.
Udensi made the pledge on Tuesday in Abuja during a courtesy visit by the leadership of NAWOJ FCT, led by its Chairperson, Comrade Bassey Ita Ikpang, as part of activities marking this year’s International Women’s Day.
He commended the association’s planned marketplace advocacy initiative, describing it as a practical approach to engaging women directly at the grassroots, particularly in communities with limited access to electricity and conventional media platforms.
According to him, interpersonal communication remains critical in reaching underserved populations, adding that the initiative would enhance awareness on key issues affecting women, including health, social welfare and community development.
Udensi also urged journalists to incorporate security awareness into their advocacy efforts, stressing the need for citizens to remain vigilant. He further called for improved welfare and remuneration for security personnel, noting that better support for the sector would contribute to national stability.
In her remarks, Ikpang underscored the importance of collaboration between NAWOJ and SHEIKS & BISHOPS Consultant in advancing gender equity and strengthening media advocacy on health, governance and social justice.
She described Udensi as a visionary leader whose experience and influence would significantly boost the association’s grassroots engagement, particularly its upcoming marketplace outreach programme scheduled for April 30.
Ikpang also highlighted Udensi’s contributions to national development, including his role in local government administration and innovations in vehicle and motorcycle plate numbering systems.
The visit culminated in the decoration of Udensi as a Patron of NAWOJ FCT, in recognition of his humanitarian contributions and commitment to societal development.
The NAWOJ FCT marketplace advocacy programme is expected to take place in Abuja on April 30.
