A self-acclaimed affiliate marketer identified as Ntam Silas has been accused of defrauding an unsuspecting online user after collecting payment for an affiliate marketing course and failing to deliver the promised training.
According to the victim’s account, Mr. Silas had advertised an online course purportedly designed to teach participants how to earn money through affiliate marketing. Enticed by the offer, the victim made payment and sent proof of transaction to the marketer. However, after confirming receipt, Ntam Silas allegedly cut off all communication, ignoring messages and calls from the victim.
All efforts to reach him for clarification or refund have since proven unsuccessful.
The incident has raised serious concern about the increasing number of online fraudsters posing as digital marketers and business coaches. Many unsuspecting Nigerians, eager to learn legitimate online income skills, have fallen victim to similar deceptive schemes.
Cybersecurity experts have continued to warn the public to exercise extreme caution before enrolling in any paid online courses or mentorship programs. They advise prospective learners to verify the credibility of trainers, research reviews from past participants, and avoid making payments to unverified individuals or accounts.
Members of the public are also encouraged to report similar incidents to relevant cybercrime authorities to help expose fraudulent individuals operating online.
