Prince Kabiru Onimisi Atta: Kogi-Born Cybersecurity Expert Shaping Global IT and Social Impact

Prince Kabiru Onimisi Atta is a renowned cybersecurity expert, global information technology leader, and philanthropist with roots in Kogi State, Nigeria.

He hails from the Kuroko area of Adavi Local Government Area and was born on July 19, 1979, in the Oziokutu community of Ogaminana, Adavi LGA.

He is married to Ozavize Ochu-Atta from the Oboroke area of Ihima, Okehi Local Government Area, and the marriage is blessed with three children: Simisi, Itopa, and Adinoyi.

Educational Background
Prince Atta began his early education at Renny Nursery and Primary School, Inoziomi, Adavi LGA. He proceeded to the prestigious Nigerian Military School, Zaria, for his secondary education and later completed it at Loral Secondary School, Igbesa, Ogun State.

His academic pursuit spans some of the world’s leading institutions. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology and Management from the University of Hull, England; a Postgraduate Diploma in Technology Management and Entrepreneurship from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, Scotland; and a Master’s degree in Project Management from the University of Salford, Manchester, England. He also earned an Executive Certificate in Leadership and Management from University College London (UCL). Currently, he is a PhD candidate in Information Technology with a specialization in Cyber Engineering and Artificial Intelligence at the University of the Cumberlands, Kentucky, USA.

Professional Career
With over 25 years of experience in the information technology and cybersecurity industry, Prince Atta has built a distinguished global career. He began as a Technical Support Engineer at Dell Inc. and went on to work with several Fortune 500 organizations, including IDT Telecoms, Royal Bank of Scotland, Abbey Bank (Santander), General Motors, Microsoft Inc., KPMG, and TCB. His professional footprint also includes public-sector engagements with the Abuja Technology Free Trade Zone Company and the National Population Commission of Nigeria.

In recognition of his outstanding contributions to cybersecurity, he was inducted into the Top 100 Ethical Hackers Hall of Fame by the EC-Council in 2023.

Entrepreneurship and Innovation
In 2020, Prince Atta launched a technology start-up and successfully invented a digital traffic management system, now patented in the United States. The innovation is a technology-driven public safety solution designed to enhance the warning, control, and direction of pedestrians, motorists, and other transportation systems during high-risk or emergency situations, significantly improving public safety outcomes.

Philanthropy and Community Service
Driven by a lifelong commitment to service nurtured during his upbringing in Okene, Prince Atta founded the Project Second Chance Foundation. For over a decade, the foundation has focused on social impact through economic interventions, including short-term soft grants for immediate hardship relief, provision of artisan tools and skills acquisition programs, medical assistance, and educational support. The foundation also promotes youth development through scholarships, sporting competitions, and the distribution of educational materials.
