Mr. Kelvin Onyiaeze, a United States citizen and healthcare professional, alongside the North American-African Coalition (NACA), has strongly refuted allegations made against him by social media influencer Martins Otse, describing them as false and defamatory.
In a statement issued on Friday in Abuja, Onyiaeze and the coalition said the claims circulating in a viral video were “entirely fabricated” and part of a deliberate attempt to damage his reputation.
They maintained that Onyiaeze, whom they described as a law-abiding professional with a clean record in the United States, has no involvement in any criminal activity, including alleged land grabbing.
The statement further accused the influencer of misleading international institutions by referencing the United States Department of State in his claims, noting that Onyiaeze’s engagements in Nigeria remain lawful and transparent.
Citing the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act 2015, the coalition argued that the allegations amount to cyberstalking, bullying, and reputational harm, calling on relevant authorities to intervene.
The group specifically urged the Nigeria Police Force and the Department of State Services to investigate the matter and take appropriate action.
They also disclosed that their legal team, led by Barrister Abubakar Orumah, has been directed to initiate a ₦1 billion libel suit against the influencer.
“The law must take its course to deter the misuse of social media platforms for blackmail or personal gain,” the statement added.
