Ahead of the December 4, 2024, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Council elections, Comrade Grace Ike is set to officially launch her campaign for the position of Chairman with a free medical outreach.
The campaign flag-off, organized by the Grace Ike Campaign Council (GICC), will feature free eye examinations for journalists. The event is scheduled to take place on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at 12 noon at the NUJ FCT Council Secretariat in Utako, Abuja.
The initiative is expected to draw numerous journalists and supporters from various NUJ chapels. Speaking about the exercise, Comrade Ike emphasized the significance of eye health for journalists, given their critical role as society’s watchdogs. She noted that the campaign aims to improve productivity by addressing the essential needs of their vision through professional care by qualified ophthalmologists.
During the flag-off, Comrade Ike will also unveil her campaign management team and share details of her campaign itinerary.
