NAWOJ FCT Partners RMRDC to Boost Women’s Empowerment and Innovation, as DG is Named Patron

The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Chapter, has entered into a strategic partnership with the Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC) aimed at advancing women’s empowerment and sustainable national development.

The collaboration, formalized in Abuja, is designed to promote capacity building, innovation, and economic opportunities for women, particularly in the media and entrepreneurial sectors. Both organizations expressed commitment to leveraging local raw materials and research-driven initiatives to enhance productivity and improve livelihoods.

Speaking during the engagement, chairperson of NAWOJ FCT Mrs bassey ita-Ikpan highlighted the importance of partnerships in amplifying the voices of women and creating platforms for professional growth, noting that the alliance would open new opportunities for training, mentorship, and resource access for its members.

In a significant development, the Director-General of RMRDC prof Nnanyelugo ike- muonso was announced as Patron of NAWOJ FCT, a move seen as a strategic step toward strengthening institutional support and deepening collaboration between both bodies.

The RMRDC leadership, in its remarks, reaffirmed the Council’s dedication to promoting the use of indigenous resources for industrial growth, while pledging continued support for initiatives that empower women and contribute to national development.

The partnership underscores NAWOJ FCT’s ongoing efforts to build strong alliances with key institutions to drive gender inclusion, economic advancement, and impactful advocacy across the country.
