The Special Adviser on Media to the Governor of Kogi State, Ismaila Isah, on Thursday joined the leadership of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations at its 2026 first quarterly induction ceremony held in Abuja.
The event, led by the institute’s President and Chairman of Council, Ike Neliaku, brought together council members, fellows, and newly inducted members, including participants from Kogi State.
Speaking during the ceremony, Isah delivered a goodwill message on behalf of his chapter, where he reflected on his journey in the profession. He recalled his induction into the institute on May 27, 2009, at the Lagos Airport Hotel, after years as a student member in Kano.
Drawing from nearly three decades of experience in the communications industry, he highlighted a career shaped by resilience, growth, and opportunity. He also recounted his emergence as Best New Talent at the maiden PR Eagle Awards in 2009, a milestone he said earned him multiple job offers from PR agencies.
Referencing remarks by guest speaker Ini Ememobong, Isah noted that the public relations profession plays a vital role in shaping, guiding, and instilling discipline in practitioners.
He stressed the importance of upholding professional standards, mentoring young professionals, and strengthening the practice to ensure greater impact, while reaffirming commitment to positioning Kogi State prominently in Nigeria’s public relations space.
