IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, on Wednesday, received the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Nigeria, Salem Saeed Al-Shamsi, during a courtesy visit at the Force Headquarters, Abuja.
The visit underscored growing diplomatic and security cooperation between Nigeria and the UAE, with the Ambassador congratulating the IGP on his appointment and reaffirming his country’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force. He highlighted opportunities for partnership in key areas including security cooperation, training, and capacity development.
Ambassador Al-Shamsi noted that enhanced collaboration would further promote shared interests and support efforts aimed at improving safety and stability. He expressed the readiness of the UAE to work closely with the Nigeria Police Force in advancing professional policing standards and operational effectiveness.
In his remarks, the IGP appreciated the Ambassador’s goodwill and emphasized the importance of sustained engagement with international partners. He stated that such partnerships remain critical to strengthening policing capacity, fostering knowledge exchange, and enhancing public safety across Nigeria.
The meeting also provided an avenue for discussions on deepening bilateral ties and exploring areas of mutual benefit geared toward addressing evolving security challenges.
