The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, has ordered an unprecedented wave of strategic internal reforms, deploying the Corps Management Team across Field Commands nationwide in a decisive move to reset standards, reinforce discipline, and restore public confidence.
The directive, announced on February 27, 2026, mandates a structured retreat and reorientation programme designed to recalibrate operational culture, strengthen supervisory accountability, and eliminate all forms of incivility and unprofessional conduct toward members of the public.
In what observers describe as one of the most comprehensive internal shake-ups in recent years, the Corps Marshal made it clear that the FRSC will no longer condone actions that undermine its statutory mandate or erode public trust.
Zero Tolerance for Misconduct.
Under the reform blueprint, Commanding Officers have been instructed to institutionalise stricter performance benchmarks and enforce absolute compliance with the Corps’ code of conduct. Personnel found guilty of misconduct, abuse of authority, or actions capable of bringing the Corps into disrepute will face swift and firm disciplinary measures in line with established regulations.
The nationwide engagement will also focus on:
Deepening ethical compliance across all Commands
Standardising enforcement procedures
Strengthening internal supervision and reporting systems
Embedding a citizen-centered service culture
Direct Stakeholder Engagement
Beyond internal restructuring, the Management Team will interface directly with key stakeholders and members of the public to harvest constructive feedback on operational conduct and service delivery.
The initiative aims to bridge perception gaps, enhance transparency, and foster stronger community partnerships.
Industry analysts say the reform signals a renewed determination by the FRSC leadership to consolidate professionalism within the ranks while positioning the Corps as a more responsive and people-oriented institution.
