The Nigeria Police Force has appointed Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Abdullahi Isa as the new Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Utako Division in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), following his elevation from his previous position as Divisional Crime Officer (DCO 1) in the division.

The appointment places CSP Isa in charge of one of the busiest police divisions in Abuja, with the responsibility of enhancing security, maintaining law and order, and deepening collaboration between the police and the public.

Having served in the division in a senior operational capacity, CSP Isa is expected to draw on his experience and knowledge of the area to strengthen community policing, improve operational effectiveness, and ensure prompt responses to security incidents.

Security observers say his familiarity with the operational environment will help foster stronger partnerships with residents, market associations, transport operators, and community leaders to address emerging security challenges through proactive engagement.

The new DPO is also widely recognised for maintaining a cordial relationship with the media, a quality many believe will encourage greater transparency, timely dissemination of information, and improved public confidence in policing activities within the division.

Residents and stakeholders have expressed optimism that his leadership will consolidate existing security gains and further promote peace, safety, and effective policing across Utako and its surrounding communities.

CSP Isa is expected to officially assume his new responsibilities immediately as part of ongoing efforts by the Nigeria Police Force to strengthen security and enhance service delivery in the Federal Capital Territory.
