Senator Smart Adeyemi has commended former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, describing him as “an institution whose legacy continues to shape the state’s political direction.”
Speaking as a guest on AIT’s political programme ‘Focus’ Adeyemi said Bello deserves credit for producing a worthy successor in Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, whom he described as “a gentle, level-headed leader who understands what good governance means.”
The former senator noted that although he was not the anointed candidate during the 2023 governorship election, he is “truly satisfied that the chosen one, Governor Ododo, is performing excellently and has left him with no choice but to give full support to his administration.”
Adeyemi also extended praises to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, expressing optimism that Nigeria’s insecurity challenges would soon become a thing of the past. According to him, President Tinubu is “a strategist a reformer who means well for Nigerians.with the political will to confront insecurity head-on.”
He recalled that the security crisis started many years ago, during a period when those in authority failed to take decisive action against the emerging threats. “Those who were once called ‘kwanta-kwanta’ have today matured into bandits and terrorists because proper steps were not taken early enough,” he said.
Adeyemi urged Nigerians to remain patient and hopeful, adding that with the right approach currently being implemented, the nation will overcome its security challenges.
