The Director-General of the Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN), Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi, has reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to advancing Nigeria’s energy transition and strengthening the country’s energy security as the nation marks its 66th Independence anniversary.
In a goodwill message to mark the occasion, Abdullahi described Nigeria’s 66-year journey as one defined by resilience, sacrifice and an enduring faith in the promise of the nation.
He said the anniversary provides an opportunity for Nigerians to reflect on the country’s achievements while renewing their determination to build a more prosperous and united nation.
According to him, Nigeria’s energy future and transition remain a national imperative, adding that the ECN will continue to support initiatives aimed at expanding access to clean and reliable energy.
He specifically highlighted the Renewed Hope Solarisation Programme as part of ongoing efforts to improve energy access, strengthen energy security and create new opportunities for Nigerians under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
Abdullahi expressed optimism that Nigeria has the potential to rise, compete and lead among the world’s leading nations, stressing that countries that are great today also began by laying strong foundations.
“The Nigeria we desire is possible,” he said, urging Nigerians to embrace patriotism, cooperation, unity and collective determination in building the nation.
He called on citizens to continue believing in Nigeria and contributing to its development, noting that the country’s future depends on the collective actions and commitment of its people.
“Happy Independence Day, Nigeria.” 🇳🇬
