The Honourable Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Abanika Taiye, reaffirmed the Kogi State Government’s commitment to quality education and infrastructure development as he attended the 18th Matriculation Ceremony of the College of Health Sciences, Idah, on Thursday, February 27, 2025.
Addressing the gathering, Hon. Abanika emphasized that his presence was not only as a member of the State Executive Council but also to show solidarity with the institution’s Acting Provost, Mr. Umar Anataku Shaibu, whom he described as a visionary leader.
He commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and his predecessor, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, for their continuous investment in education, highlighting that their efforts had led to the accreditation of most courses at the college.
In a key announcement, Hon. Abanika assured that the administration block, initiated under the previous administration, would be completed under Governor Ododo’s consolidation agenda—a move aimed at strengthening the college’s infrastructure.
As part of his commitment to academic excellence, the Commissioner awarded a one-year tuition scholarship to the best-performing student in the Computer-Based Test (CBT) entrance examination, encouraging students to strive for excellence.
He reaffirmed the Kogi State Government’s unwavering support for the institution and pledged to advocate for more development projects to further uplift the college.
