More than a billionaire businessman, King Ochacho, the Chairman and President of Ochacho Holdings, has earned his crown not just in business, but in humanity.
A Self-Made Giver With A Heart For The People
Born on August 25, 1977, in Kaduna to Mr. Benson Adah and Hajiya Hauwa Ali Ochacho Aloga, and proudly Idoma from Otukpo, King Ochacho rose from modest beginnings in a military barracks to build a conglomerate that spans real estate, hotels, oil and gas, farms, bakeries, water, pharmacy and financial services
But his true empire is his philanthropy
Through Ochacho Real Homes, his flagship company, he has delivered over 25,000 homes and employs over 1,200 professionals and artisans across Nigeria. Today the brand owns four world-class mega estates in Abuja and is deploying a 33-storey high-rise in Eko Atlantic City, Lagos to house 700 families.
Yet he believes a house should not just be for profit it should be for purpose. That philosophy gave birth to estates and housing solutions for the homeless and low-income earners, making home ownership a reality for thousands who never dreamed of it.
The Foundation That Lifts Thousands
Through the Ochacho Foundation, the philanthropic arm of his empire, King Ochacho has:
Awarded educational scholarships to thousands of indigent Nigerian students at all levels
Repaired, revamped and upgraded several stretches of public roads in Otukpo and Ohimini
Invested heavily in rural electrification, community empowerment programs and direct financial assistance to families in Benue and Nasarawa States
Donated aully furnished property worth N500 million in Abuja to support the humanitarian mission of NBM of Africa Worldwide.
Traditional rulers have taken notice. In October 2025, the Emir of Adudu, HRH Alhaji Abdullahi Mohammed Hassan, turbaned him as the Kangiwan Adudu of Nasarawa State, describing him as “a visionary leader, philanthropist, and bridge-builder whose efforts continue to inspire hope and development”.
A cleric who lauded him earlier called him “a national patriot, an affable socialite, a quintessential youth role model and a private-enterprise icon”.
Why They Call Him King of Philanthropists
Despite headlines for lavish gifts like the recent N400 million mansion, those close to him describe Ochacho as a low-key philanthropist who gives without camera. For him, N400 million is “just N400” when it comes to touching lives.
He is not just building houses. He is building hope, building futures, and building a legacy that says wealth is meaningless if it does not lift the people.
From Benue to Abuja, from the classroom to the street, King Ochacho Holdings stands as a testament that one man’s generosity can become a nation’s shelter.
Indeed, if philanthropy had a throne in Nigeria today, King Ochacho sits on it.
