In a landmark engagement underscoring Nigeria’s ongoing energy transformation, the Executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, paid a courtesy visit to the headquarters of the Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN) in Abuja.
The high-level meeting focused on advancing energy innovation, aligning policies for sustainable development, and strengthening partnerships under the framework of the National Energy Master Plan. At the heart of discussions was President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Solarization Project, which aims to deploy solar-powered streetlights across all 36 states of the federation.
Governor Ododo’s visit reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to energy-driven progress in Kogi State and the broader national agenda. He also expressed strong support for collaborative efforts with the ECN, while commending the leadership of the Commission.
The Director-General of the Energy Commission of Nigeria, Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi, warmly welcomed the Governor and expressed gratitude for his unwavering support. Dr. Abdullahi reaffirmed ECN’s commitment to achieving 30% off-grid energy coverage through the Renewed Hope Solarization Initiative, which promises to accelerate Nigeria’s transition to clean and sustainable energy.
With visionary leadership from President Tinubu and forward-thinking partners like Governor Ododo, the ECN under Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi continues to champion a future where clean energy is a right powered by innovation, inclusion, and national dedication.
