In line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s vision for cleaner, safer, and more efficient transportation, the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative (PC-CNG) has handed over a brand-new CNG-powered bus to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).
The Programme Director of PC-CNG, Engr. Michael Oluwagbemi, presented the vehicle to the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, mni, at the FRSC National Headquarters on Thursday, 14 August 2025.
The handover represents a strategic step in the Federal Government’s agenda to modernise the transport sector, cut carbon emissions, and promote sustainable mobility.
According to Oluwagbemi, the initiative is part of ongoing efforts to transition Nigeria’s transportation system to cleaner energy sources.

Receiving the vehicle, the Corps Marshal commended President Tinubu for the gesture, noting that the CNG bus would enhance FRSC’s operational capacity and further the cause of environmental sustainability.
“This aligns perfectly with our mission to ensure safer roads while embracing greener technologies,” Mohammed said.
The FRSC is expected to deploy the eco-friendly vehicle for official operations, setting an example for other agencies in adopting low-emission transport solutions.
