Staff members, directors and management of the Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN) have celebrated the third anniversary of Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi as Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of the Commission.
The celebration took place at the Commission’s headquarters, where Abdullahi was received by staff members who organised a surprise reception to commemorate his three years in office.
The gathering provided an opportunity to reflect on achievements recorded under his leadership, including solarisation initiatives, the establishment of Africa’s first Barefoot Renewable Energy College in Osara, Kogi State, and strategic international partnerships aimed at advancing Nigeria’s energy sector.
Other areas highlighted during the celebration included improvements in staff welfare, conditions of service, internal infrastructure and the Commission’s working environment.
In his remarks, Abdullahi expressed appreciation to the staff and management for the reception, describing the gesture as a reflection of their shared commitment to the vision and mandate of the Commission.
He acknowledged the contributions of the Commission’s workforce to the progress recorded over the past three years and reaffirmed his commitment to building on existing achievements.
The ECN Director-General also stressed that more work remained to be done, pledging continued attention to staff welfare and the Commission’s institutional development.
He further reiterated the Commission’s commitment to advancing Nigeria’s energy sector and supporting the country’s transition towards a stronger and more sustainable energy future.
The celebration marked three years of Abdullahi’s leadership at the Commission, with a renewed emphasis on consolidating existing initiatives, strengthening partnerships and improving the delivery of its mandate
