Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi Initiates Strategic Energy Partnership with Nigerian Air Force

The Director General of the Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN), Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi, hosted a high-level delegation from the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) at the ECN headquarters to formalize a strategic partnership aimed at enhancing energy security for military operations.

The NAF delegation was led by the Chief of Civil-Military Relations, Air Vice Marshal E.K. Gabkwet, and the Chief of Logistics, AVM A.I. Sambo.

​During the engagement, Dr. Abdullahi briefed the visitors on ECN’s successful solarization initiatives currently powering healthcare facilities and tertiary institutions across the country. He pledged to extend these interventions to the Nigerian Air Force, beginning with the immediate deployment of solar lighting solutions to support their nationwide operations.

​”This historic engagement marks the start of a strategic collaboration to strengthen energy security around Nigerian Air Force operations,” Dr. Abdullahi stated. “Our commitment is to provide practical, sustainable energy solutions that support national development and institutional efficiency.”

​As a gesture of institutional collaboration, the Director General presented the NAF team with copies of the National Energy Policy (NEP) and the National Energy Master Plan (NEMP). These documents outline the ECN’s roadmap for driving innovation and ensuring a resilient energy future for Nigeria.
