The Energy Commission, under the leadership of its Director, Mustapha Abdullahi, engaged in a very high-ranking meeting with the Governor of Kogi State, Usman Ahmed Ododo, and the Chief Honorable Minister for Innovation, Science, and Technology, Uche Nnaji. The meeting majorly focused on the President’s landmark initiative in the area of establishing a Renewable Energy College in Nigeria, with Kogi State being the location.
Abdullahi was present during the meeting and voiced full support for the project, citing a wide potential in developing expertise in renewable energy technologies. He noted that the college would very much be at the fore in empowering people with skills relevant to steering Nigeria to embracing sustainable sources of energy. Abdullahi promised to support the propagation of this historic program in propelling the nation toward a cleaner, greener, and wealthier future.
Establishment of the College of Renewable Energy would mark a very crucial step towards advancing the status of the renewable energy sector in the country and helping to reduce some environmental challenges. The education and training that will focus on renewable energy aim at achieving a skilled workforce capable of supporting the country’s energy goals for actionable help towards global sustainability achievement.
