In its continued bid to streamline its operations and increase efficiency, a three-day capacity building workshop has been inaugurated by the Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN) led by its Director General, Mr. Mustapha Abdullahi.

It represents a direct investment in the infrastructure of the Commission to improve the processing of information and service delivery within the ECN and goes hand-in-hand with the Federal Government’s overarching Digital Transformation Objectives.
DG Abdullahi while commenting on this move said that the need to keep abreast of technological advancements is paramount. “This capacity-building program, which is taking three days, embodies my commitment to developing the information processing systems of ECN. Upgrading services and enhancing efficiency in the institution would require continuous improvements brought about by better training in information technology,” he said.

The training is strategically oriented at building departmental ICT Champions, who will constitute the initial technical support structure for the Commission. This pool of trained staff will do the following:
- Offer first level technical support.
- Boost data usage for improved decision-making.
- Intensify collaboration with the central ICT unit.
This local support structure is expected to fast-track the digital modernization process at ECN and ultimately aid in attaining the country’s development goals through the Renewed Hope Agenda.
