The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has reaffirmed its commitment to a transparent, fair and merit-based recruitment process as it prepares to commence physical screening and documentation for successful candidates.
The screening exercise, according to the Service, will take place at the Nigeria Customs Command and Staff College (NCCSC), Gwagwalada, Abuja, with candidates expected to appear strictly on the date allocated to their respective states and cadres.
The National Public Relations Officer of the NCS, Deputy Comptroller Abdullahi Maiwada, disclosed this in a statement dated September 1, 2026, urging candidates to comply fully with the screening requirements.
Candidates are expected to present their National Identification Number (NIN), birth certificate or declaration of age, educational certificates, certificate of state of origin, two recent passport photographs and a completed guarantor’s form. NYSC certificates are also required where applicable.
The Service also directed candidates to appear in a white T-shirt, shorts and canvas shoes for the exercise.
The NCS stressed that the recruitment process is being conducted with emphasis on transparency, fairness and merit, in line with the reform agenda of the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR.
The Service urged candidates to remain vigilant and obtain information only through official NCS communication channels, warning against reliance on unauthorised sources or individuals seeking to mislead applicants.
The Customs Service further explained that candidates who successfully complete the screening and documentation exercise will receive information on the subsequent stage of the recruitment process.
The exercise is expected to provide an opportunity for the Service to select qualified Nigerians who will contribute to strengthening the NCS workforce and advancing its mandate of trade facilitation, revenue collection and border security.
The NCS therefore advised all successful candidates to take the screening exercise seriously, prepare the required documents and report promptly on their scheduled dates.
