The Honourable Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development in Kogi State, Hon. Abanika Taiye, has embarked on a voter registration sensitization campaign across Ajaokuta Local Government Area, in line with Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s directive to political appointees to mobilize their constituents for the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR).
On Saturday, August 2, 2025, Hon. Abanika kicked off the exercise at Polling Unit 001, Community Centre B+B Workers’ Camp, before extending the outreach to Hausa Community Zango in the Ajaokuta Steel Territory, Geregu, and other registration centres across the LGA.
The commissioner also visited his hometown, Ebiya, where he inspected the ongoing road construction project linking Adu to Batoto.
Addressing residents during the exercise, Hon. Abanika urged eligible voters to register and secure their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), describing the PVC as the key to sustaining good governance under Governor Ododo. He reiterated the administration’s commitment to transforming Ajaokuta into a hub of comfort and development.
In response, community leaders and political stakeholders lauded Hon. Abanika’s efforts and pledged total support for the governor’s administration. They assured that their votes would guarantee Governor Ododo’s re-election bid and the continuation of his developmental strides.
