Nigeria’s entertainment space is set for an unusual youth-focused music campaign as real estate entrepreneur King Ochacho reportedly commits $1 million to the promotion of his 13-year-old son, Ice King Ochacho, and his forthcoming 16-track album, The Future.
Popular streamer Peller has been at the centre of the promotional drive, using his online platforms to call on streamers, influencers, TikTokers, bloggers, journalists and publishers to join the campaign.
In the widely circulated promotional message, media practitioners and content creators are encouraged to promote the young artiste and participate in what is being described as a major media rollout for The Future.
The campaign has generated attention not only because of the reported size of the promotional budget, but also because it places a young Nigerian artiste at the centre of a broad entertainment and media mobilisation.
Who Is Ice King Ochacho?
Born Shedrack Mohammed Adah, and popularly known as Ice King Ochacho, the young artiste was born on August 6, 2013, in Otukpo, Benue State.
Already described as a “Wonder Kid”, Ice King has developed skills across several areas of music. He is known as a rapper and Afrobeats singer and has also demonstrated abilities with musical instruments including the drums, guitar, saxophone and clarinet.
His musical journey reportedly attracted significant attention after a freestyle went viral when he was just nine years old.
He has since released projects including the ‘I’m Back’ EP in 2025, featuring songs such as Ochacho Money and Oh Papa, while his earlier work includes E Choke remix featuring singer Teni.
His next major project, The Future, is expected to contain 16 tracks.
A Young Talent With Big Ambition
Ice King has expressed strong confidence in the new project, describing it as a project that means everything to him after working hard on the music.
The campaign also recalls praise reportedly given by Afrobeats superstar Davido, who told King Ochacho that Ice King is “the future of Afrobeat.”
With the release of The Future, the young artiste is now seeking to turn that promise into a wider musical movement.
Media Community Positioned to Benefit
The reported $1 million promotional commitment has also attracted the attention of publishers, journalists, bloggers, streamers and social media creators who are being invited to participate in the rollout.
For Nigeria’s increasingly digital media industry, the campaign could provide an opportunity for entertainment publishers and content creators to combine promotion of emerging talent with potential commercial opportunities.
At TrueVerdict Online, the platform is joining the The Future promotion train and celebrating Ice King as a young artiste whose story reflects ambition, discipline and youthful creativity.
The platform also encourages media organisations, radio presenters, DJs, online publishers and content creators to give attention to the project as its promotional campaign gathers momentum.
As the release of The Future approaches, all eyes are now on Ice King Ochacho to see whether the 13-year-old wonder kid can translate the massive attention surrounding his new album into a significant breakthrough on the Nigerian music scene.
The Future is coming — and Ice King Ochacho wants Nigerians to listen.
Promo participation and payment arrangements should be verified directly with Peller’s management or the official King Ochacho media team.
