Senator Natasha H. Akpoti-Uduaghan of Kogi Central has teamed up with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) to register 2,500 Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), aiming to boost economic growth in the district.
The registration will be conducted on-site at a discounted rate of N11,000 per SME, with Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan covering the total cost of N27,500,000 for all registrations.
This partnership was formalized during a meeting at her office in the National Assembly, Abuja, where CAC officials, led by Mr. Bello Muftau Esq, Head of CAC FCT Zonal Office, agreed on the initiative. The goal is to assist small business owners in meeting government registration requirements and fostering business development locally.
The initiative includes plans for a forthcoming conference to facilitate collaboration among stakeholders in the business community, such as regulatory bodies and the Bank of Industry, to stimulate business growth and development.
Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan also emphasized the importance of CAC’s role in educating and informing business owners about registration benefits and compliance.
Mr. Bello Muftau Esq commended the partnership for enhancing Nigeria’s business environment in accordance with the Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA) 2020, highlighting CAC’s efforts to simplify registration processes, reduce costs, and improve digital infrastructure to support business registration and growth.
