If you call him a man of destiny you may not be wrong. In this age when men of candour with experience, maturity, modesty and wisdom are in severe short supply in politics and governance, this astute politician and distinguished public servant, Hon. Dr. Abubakar Sadiq AbdulKarim, has made some significant contributions to national development.
Hon. Dr. AbdulKarim CIFE was born in Gusau. He was raised from a very humble background. He holds three degrees in Biological Sciences (BUK), MBA (BUK) Islamic finance (Pebble hills the UK), and PhD (BUK).
Abubakar Sadiq is a certified Islamic finance, Expert, and certified Islamic banking. He is very honest, humble, diligent, smart, and well-grounded in commercial finance and Islamic finance jurisprudence. He has worked with various financial institutions in various capacities with over 20years of experience. He rose to the pick of his banking career before leaving to take upstate and National assignments.
Hon. Abubakar Sadiq Gusau has presented several papers with CBN, ICAN, and ICA. He has attended various National and international training and seminar.
Before His appointment as Federal Commissioner, Revenue Mobilisation Allocation, and Fiscal Commission Representing Zamfara State, He was the Special Adviser to Immediate Past Zamfara State Governor Hon. Dr. Abdul-Aziz Yari Abubakar on Private Sector Development for two terms. During this period he led the drive for a purposeful private engagement in the development of the young agrarian Zamfara State.
He was later redeployed to Zamfara State Agency for Poverty Alleviation (ZAPA) where he left some remarkable achievements.
A great philanthropist in his own respect, Hon .Dr. Sadiq had in his quest to touch the lives of the masses, founded the Abubakar Sadiq Foundation that had been responsible for various initiatives in Zamfara state and Kano states.
He also holds the traditional title of Lihiddan Gusau and Jarman Kunchin Kalgo. However, he simply prefers to be addressed as Mal. Abubakar Sadiq Gusau.
In his philanthropic gestures, he carried out so many activities that include the award of scholarships to 150 Zamfara State indigenes at the tertiary level; Provision of learning materials to several Islamic and conventional Primary schools; supply of food to many households in Zamfara state and clothes to disabled people in the state.
Among others were the Provision of feeding during the fast of Ramadan to 1000 households across 14 Local Governments in Zamfara State; Distribution of clothes to youth and women; Securing of Jobs for over 100 Zamfara Indigenes in Federal Government, NNPC, FIRS, Blue Chip companies and financial institutions.
Undaunted, Hon. Dr. Sadiq who regards this course as a calling had also provided seed capital to youth and women entrepreneurs in the State with over 200 beneficiaries; sponsored Youth enlightenment programmes across the Media, TV, radio etc and consistently purchase JAMB forms and registration for WAEC and NECO to some indigent students, which is the annual event for him.
