Kogi State Government Officials Unite for Good Governance, Grassroot Mobilization

A joint meeting of state forum Exco was held at the State sectariat complex in Lokoja, bringing together Commissioners, Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, Local Government Special Assistants, and Ward Special Assistants to the Executive Governor of Kogi state.

Organized by the Auditor General of the Local Government, Hon. Dr. Yakubu Siyaka Adabenege (Fancy), the meeting aimed to rally political appointees forums for good governance delivery and sustainable grassroots mobilization.

During the meeting, the Auditor General evaluated programs executed by the forums of appointees, including GOBO by SSA, GOOS-care initiative by LSA, and GO-WEEP by WSA. The need for continuation of these programs to other Local Governments in the state that are yet to be reached was also discussed.

According to Abdul-mu’min Suleiman Idobaji, Secretary General of Kogi state forum of Ward Special Assistants to the Governor, “With the commitment of Alh. Usman Ododo and his appointees, the Kogi of our dream can be achieved soonest.”

This meeting demonstrates the Kogi state government’s efforts to promote participatory governance and grassroots development, as envisioned by Governor Alh. Usman Ododo. The appointment of 717 Ward Special Assistants, for instance, was made to “deepen democracy and ensure participatory governance among the grassroots population”
