Women Affairs Minister Condoles with Families of Abuja Gas Tanker Explosion Victims

The Honourable Minister of Women Affairs has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic gas tanker explosion that occurred on Wednesday evening at Karu Bridge along the Abuja-Nyanya-Keffi Highway.

In a statement issued by her Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Jonathan Eze, the minister extended her condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the disaster.

“My thoughts and prayers are with the victims, their families, and all those affected by this unfortunate incident,” the statement read. “The loss of lives and property is a painful reminder of the need for increased safety measures to prevent such occurrences.”

The minister also wished the injured a swift recovery and called for stronger regulations to enhance safety in the transportation of hazardous materials.

“As we mourn, I extend my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and pray for God to grant them strength and comfort during this difficult time,” she added.

The explosion, which sent shockwaves through the area, resulted in multiple casualties and significant damage to nearby properties. Emergency response teams have since been deployed to assess the situation and provide necessary assistance to victims.

Authorities have urged transport operators to adhere strictly to safety protocols to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
