Senator Neda Imasuen Congratulates His Holiness Pope Robert Prevost Leo XIV on Historic Election

Senator Neda Imasuen has extended heartfelt congratulations to His Holiness, Pope Robert Prevost Leo XIV, on his election as the Supreme Pontiff of the Roman Catholic Church. His Holiness now holds the distinction of being the first U.S.-born Pope in the Church’s over 2,000-year history, a milestone that marks a new chapter for the over 1.3 billion Catholic faithful across the globe.

In his congratulatory message, Senator Imasuen noted that:

“The Papacy has long stood as a beacon of moral authority and spiritual wisdom in a world often in search of direction. Your election as the successor of Saint Peter is a powerful reminder of the enduring values of faith, humility, and devoted service. At this pivotal moment in history, your emergence as Pope inspires renewed hope and unity among the faithful and offers the world a guiding light rooted in compassion, peace, and divine purpose.”

Senator Imasuen further offered prayers for the success of the Pope’s sacred mission:

“As you embark on this sacred mission, we pray that the Almighty endows you with strength, wisdom, and enduring health. May divine grace guide your steps as you lead the faithful and work to unite the world in love, peace, and spiritual harmony.”

The Senator called on the faithful in Nigeria and around the world to continue to pray for His Holiness as he embarks on his spiritual journey, bearing the immense responsibility of leading the global Catholic community and being a beacon of hope for all humanity.
