Claims of a plan to conduct a mock examination within the varsity community, in view of its recent postponement of the 2024 test, have been dismissed by the Joint Universities Preliminary Examination Board. According to JUPEB, the Registrar, Prof. Ademola Adeleke, ‘there was never a plan’ to conduct a mock examination. The board had postponed the 2024 Examinations, earlier slated to hold between August 5 and 16, to August 19-30, citing security concerns as a result of the #EndBadGovernance protests.
He, therefore, called on partner and affiliate universities to ignore any information concerning the conduct of a mock examination, describing it as false information. He said that all information from JUPEB gets to the public domain through their formal channels. JUPEB is a national examination body formed by a group of universities, which the University of Lagos heads, aimed at conducting standard exams for those candidates that go through university foundation or diploma programs to help them gain direct entry into 200-level university courses in Nigeria and abroad.
