In a continuous quest for strong commitment to grassroots connect, the Honourable Member representing Ajaokuta State Constituency, Hon. Jibril Onoru-Oiza Abu, has extended cash gifts to hundreds of petty traders in local markets across the Three (3) Districts in Ajaokuta Constituency.
The initiative was carried out by the Lawmaker’s Aides ably led by Hon. Sadiq Momoh Abdulrobani who is the Special Adviser to the Assembly Member on Local Government and Ward Affairs on behalf of their Boss.
The exercise which covers Ganaja Market, Ajaokuta-ASCO Bumps axis and Adogo Main Market was specifically designed to reach out to struggling petty traders and elderly women in making sure that the people of Ajaokuta enjoy the dividends of democracy, however little.
Hon. Abdulrobani while addressing the beneficiaries, assured the market women that Hon. Jibril Abu remains committed to implementing more initiatives that will enhance economic stability and local commerce in the Constituency, as Women who benefited from the initiative were overwhelmed with joy and gratitude, offered heartfelt prayers for Hon. Jibril Abu, commending his relentless commitment to improving their livelihoods.
Traders came out in large numbers to pray for the Assembly Member, exchanging pleasantries while reaffirming their support for his Leadership. While expressing their appreciation, some described the initiative as a much-needed intervention and relief to them at this critical time.
Other Legislative Aides who were present for the initiative includes; Hon. Momoh Jimoh Muktar, Personal Assistant to the Honorable Member on Domestic and Sport Affairs, Hon. Salihu Mariam, Personal Assistant to the Wife of The Honorable Member, amongst others.
This intervention aligns with the Honourable Member’s broader vision of fostering financial inclusion, strengthening small businesses and driving sustainable economic growth in Ajaokuta State Constituency.
Hon. Jibril Abu remains steadfast in his mission to improve the welfare of his constituents and delivering impactful programs that empower the people.
The traders praised the Governor of Kogi State, H/E Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for being a proactive Leader that has the people at heart – a round peg in a round whole. They further appreciated the former Governor Yahaya Bello for the architect of a better Kogi which has produced the present crop of wonderful leadership from Ajaokuta and for Ajaokuta people.
