Governor Ododo Appoints Onyekehi as Special Adviser on Youth Empowerment

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has approved the appointment of Hon. (Prince) Abdulkareem Suleiman Onyekehi as his Special Adviser on Youth Empowerment Programs.

Until his appointment, Onyekehi was Kogi State Focal Person for the National Social Investment Programme, NSIP, and he received his appointment letter on Monday, September 2, from the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Folashade Arike Ayoade.

Onyekehi is a known philanthropist with vast experiences within and outside Kogi State. He assured the audience of his commitment to standing with the current administration in Kogi State. He thanked Governor Ododo for his investment in youths who, he said, are quite appreciative that his victory at the Supreme Court is an indication of his acceptance by the good people of Kogi State.

“My appointment as Special Adviser on Youth Empowerment Programs to his excellency, the Governor, is a call to duty; I am determined to contribute my quota to the progress of our beloved state,” Onyekehi said.

He mentioned the commitment of Governor Ododo on youth employment across the three senatorial districts, a promise he made during his swearing-in ceremony in January 2024. Onyekehi assured his mentors, former Kogi State Governor Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, that he would never disappoint the people of Kogi State. He promised to perform and live up to expectations of the office, with the mercy of Almighty Allah, and contribute positively to youth interventions in the state.
