As part of a nationwide end-of-year monitoring exercise, the Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, has extended his field assessment to Kaduna State to ensure the free flow of traffic during the festive season.
This follows a similar personal intervention on the Abuja–Lokoja highway, where the Corps Marshal’s direct oversight led to the immediate deployment of additional personnel to clear bottlenecks and restore order.
In Kaduna, the Corps Marshal personally led traffic operations, enforcing strict compliance with road regulations. During the exercise, FRSC enforcement teams intensified surveillance across major routes, resulting in the apprehension of several traffic violators and the impounding of overloaded vehicles.
The hands-on approach by Shehu Mohammed underscores a “zero-tolerance” policy regarding traffic infractions during the high-volume travel period. By being physically present on the highways, the Corps Marshal aims to ensure that personnel remain alert and that motorists adhere to safety standards.
The FRSC has issued a strong advisory to motorists, urging them to:
- Obey all traffic rules and signals.
- Avoid overloading passengers or goods.
- Cooperate fully with officers on duty.
The Corps maintained that sustained compliance is the only way to effectively reduce road crashes, save lives, and guarantee safer travels across the federation.
