The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) proudly celebrates another milestone of national significance as the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, was specially honoured with the BusinessDay Newspapers Excellence in Public Service Award at the 2025 Public Service Lecture Series and Excellence Awards for Ministries, Departments, and Parastatals.
This distinguished recognition shows his visionary leadership, strategic reforms, and exceptional dedication to building safer roads and a more secure nation.
The award was received on behalf of the Corps Marshal by the Deputy Corps Marshal, Training, DCM Abiodun Akinlade, symbolising the Corps’ continuous culture of professionalism, teamwork, and institutional excellence.
Hosted in Abuja, the high-level ceremony, chaired by former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR, represented by former Senate President Anyim Pius Anyim GCON, brought together some of the nation’s most influential policymakers. Among the eminent dignitaries in attendance were the Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Honourable Minister of Information and National Orientation, as well as distinguished heads of Departments and Parastatals who were also honoured for exemplary public service.
Anchored on the theme “Shaping Nigeria’s Economic Future: Navigating Challenges, Unlocking Opportunities,” the event highlighted the imperative of visionary governance and transformative leadership in driving national renewal. In this context, the honour bestowed on Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed stands as a resounding affirmation of FRSC’s expanding relevance in national development—from advanced digital security intelligence and data harmonisation to operational efficiency, road safety innovation, and strengthened inter-agency collaboration.
Under his dynamic stewardship, the Corps has elevated the National Vehicle Identification Scheme (NVIS), enhanced rescue and emergency response systems, modernised traffic management processes, and deepened the safety architecture of Nigeria’s highways. This award is therefore more than a personal commendation; it is a tribute to a leadership style that inspires excellence, accelerates innovation, and reinforces national confidence in the strategic direction of the Corps.
The entire Management and Staff of the Corps congratulates Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed on this well-deserved honour and reaffirms its commitment to sustaining life-saving reforms, strengthening national security, and championing the advancement of Nigeria’s economic and social well-being.
